Disclosure: this blog entry will be numbered because my brain is overwhelmed by all I have going on and I can't even begin to figure out how to weave everything together in a harmonious blog. Therefore, numbers :)
1. Blogging- My friend Julie informed me that I had to blog again or I was forever taken off her reading list. So Julie- here ya go. Something for you to read ;)
2. Anna's School - Anna started school again last Wednesday. Anna is in first grade- WTH!!!! Unbelievable. I told her she couldn't say she was in first grade til she walked through the door because I needed to keep my kindergartener as long as possible. I think I will like her teacher this year and she has most of the same kids in her class. They are all such great kids, so I am thankful for that. She grew so much over the summer that I had to buy her about 3000$ worth of clothes. Ok not that much but I still might have shed a few tears over that bill! In fact, my to do list for tonight includes ordering more khakis from Old Navy.
3. BSN classes- my classes started tonight. In fact, this blog MIGHT have something to do with the fact that I opened my first class and the intense desire to procrasinate came over me and I decided to blog instead of read through everything. Don't judge me. I am taking Spirituality in Nursing and Pathophysiology this semester. I am actually very excited about Patho. That material is my favorite kind of thing to learn about. I love science. And then the other class is exactly what I hate studying- not the spirituality part. Just the theory and "teaching" me stuff I already know part. Irritating. Plus I have to read The Purpose Driven Life which is a book I despise. Go figure. I'm surprised they didn't throw in The Shack on top of it.
4. I am stupid and overextend myself- So part of Anna's schooling this year is a "growth fund" that I have to pay or work off by volunteering at the school. Normally I love to volunteer there and greatly enjoyed the lunches and other things I did when she was in preschool. Last year will now be referred to as "the dark time" and I didn't do much of anything to be honest. This year, I thought for some reason that it would be a great idea to take over after school care from 330-530 for the first six weeks. And normally it would. It is easy and takes off $600 of the fee. And the kids are fun once I actually get up there and begin interacting with them. (I always dread it then have fun when I'm there). However, I am seeing my chiropractor (that's another number) three mornings a week and working 4 nights a week and my class will take at least 6-10 hours a week (4 hours of lecture alone) and adding this in is severely limiting my sleep. The last week I've averaged about 4-5 hrs a night. I am SLEEPY!!!!
5. My friends at work call me gimp-So when we went to Florida in June (super fun- I'll post some pics later) I did something horrendous and yet to be determined to my back and left hip. It hurts. And it hurts bad. For a while I was limping visibly. Still do sometimes if it is bad enough that day. Pretty embarassing. Its been a problem all summer. I finally reached the point where I didn't care what I had to do, something had to done to fix this. I ended up after several attempts at a chiropractor here in town. He is now my best friend forever. I am spending a crap ton of money and getting adjustments, spinal decompression, and orthotics in my shoes. I can really tell a difference after he has adjusted my back. I just got the shoe orthotics today so jury is still out but they seem promising so far. They are basically just custom inserts that can go in any shoe and replace the inserts I already had. But honestly, if they were neon boots that honk every time I stepped I would still wear them if they helped. I was desperate people! This has also put a complete halt to my gym going which is a source of extreme frustration and sadness and depression to me so enough said about that. I am hoping to be able to go back now that I am feeling a little better. Hopefully it won't throw my back out every time he puts it back in.
6. Feeling like an actual nurse- So almost 9 months in now and I actually feel like I might be a kick ass nurse one of these days. I don't dread going into work anymore which is a bonus. I have some great stories already so perhaps work is a whole blog unto itself. But as an update- I LOVE my job.
7. "I don't exactly hate you, but if you were on fire and I had water, I'd drink it."- Adam is another whole blog unto himself, however just a quick update since that's what this blog is all about. He's pretty much being a complete asshole. I hate to threaten him with jail to get him to finally pay his child support which is just awesome to have to do. And last long conversation I had with him included me telling him that he was being a terrible father and that he didn't exist to me outside of Anna. I hate to be that way, but the man is absolutely impossible to deal with. He thinks nothing of threatening anything from taking me back to court to force a parenting plan change (which is funny since he doesn't take her even half the time that he does have) to never paying me a cent in child support to telling me he hopes something bad happens to me and I'm a bad mother because of "blah blah blah". I'm learning to just ignore him.
8. Pinterest- I have a problem. 'Nuff said.
9. It is well with my soul- Overall, I am happy with where my life is going. I definitely have some frustrations and moments of sadness and I am very lonely at times. However, I can see that I can make life what I want it to be in most areas. I have a beautiful daughter and she is healthy and smart and wonderful. I am moving forward with my nurse practitioner schooling which I am very excited about. I chose the perfect profession for me. I am content with my job at the moment. I have lots of personal goals to work on meeting this year :) The year of darkness is over- and now I am focusing on rebuilding.
Oh my word I might've peed myself a little when I read the EX part!!!! Ha!!!! "I'd drink it.". Hilarious.
